Boeing has pulled out of the competition for a contract to provide Austria with 24 multi-role fighters, citing the unrealistic price Austria wants to pay ($1.6 billion, not enough to buy Boeing's F-18Es) and its demand that the winning contractor buy Austrian products equal to 200% of the contract.--Stephen V Cole
