TERRIER: The British Army has launched a program to develop a replacement for its Combat Engineer Tractor. It wants 100 of the highly mobile vehicles to start entering service in 2008. The contract is thought to be worth $500 million. The vehicle will perform combat engineer tasks under fire, including bulldozing, barrier construction and removal, and other tasks.--Stephen V Cole
